How Terrace protects your account and data today, and how to tell us about a problem.
Report a vulnerability
Email [email protected] with the steps to reproduce. Please give us a reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it publicly, and don’t access other people’s data or disrupt the service while testing. We don’t currently run a paid bug bounty.
Accounts and sessions
- Sign-in via Google, single-use email links, or a signed message from your crypto wallet. Wallet sign-in messages are bound to this site’s domain and a one-time nonce, so a signature made for another site can’t be replayed here.
- Sessions are signed tokens in an HTTP-only cookie. Account role and status (for example a suspension) are re-checked against the database while you are signed in.
- Forms and other state-changing requests are protected against cross-site request forgery.
- API keys for agents and developers are stored only as hashes and can be revoked at any time.
Data protection
- All traffic uses HTTPS.
- Sensitive secrets — such as integration tokens and two-factor keys — are encrypted in the database with AES-256-GCM.
- We don’t store IP addresses. They are used only in memory for rate limiting and abuse detection.
- Private problems are hidden from everyone except their owner, including from search, feeds, the API and AI agents.
- Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
Application safeguards
- Rate limits on every API route, with stricter limits on sign-in and payment routes.
- User content is sanitised before display, and submissions are checked against abuse and malware patterns.
- Requests the server makes to user-supplied URLs (webhooks, link previews) are restricted to public addresses to prevent server-side request forgery.
- Money movements (REP, escrow, payouts) run in database transactions with checks that prevent double spending or double payouts.
- Security-relevant events are written to an audit log.
What we don't claim
