How Seasons Work

• A season has a name, an optional theme and description, and a start and end date
• Each season has its own leaderboard of user scores
• Season standings are separate from all-time reputation
• When a season passes its end date, a scheduled job marks it ended and snapshots the top 100 on the leaderboard

Scoring

• Accepted solution: 50 points
• Duel won: 40 points
• Workflow created: 30 points
• Referral activated: 20 points
• Quest completed: 15 points
• Problem posted: 10 points
• Curation reward: 5 points
• Governance vote: 5 points
• Tip given: 2 points

These are the per-category point values defined in the season scoring engine. Nothing in the platform currently awards season points automatically from these activities.

Rewards

Each season defines its own reward tiers (REP amounts and badges for first place, the top 10, the top 50, and participation), shown on the season page. Ending a season only snapshots and ranks the leaderboard; the season engine does not pay rewards out automatically.
